CELMEC VI has awarded the following prizes:


  1. Credit: NASA/Apollo 17
    CELESTIAL MECHANICS FOR PLANET EARTH:
    on the occasion of the special year of emphasis on the Mathematics of Planet Earth, a prize will be awarded to the best presentation of an original research work aimed at the safeguard of our planet from space threatens. The prize will be awarded under the auspices of the Gruppo Nazionale di Fisica Matematica / INdAM and Società Italiana di Meccanica Celeste e Astrodinamica (SIMCA) .

    The prize has been awarded to Marta Ceccaroni for her work "Analytic perturbative theories in highly inhomogeneous gravitational fields", in collaboration with James Biggs and published in Icarus in 2013.

  2. Credit: STS-128 Crew, NASA
    CELESTIAL MECHANICS AND INNOVATION:
    a prize will be awarded to the best presentation of an original research leading to innovative astrodynamical applications.

    The prize has been awarded to Davide Farnocchia for his work "Yarkovsky-driven impact predictions", in collaboration with S.R. Chesley, P.W. Chodas, A. Milani.


  3. Credit: NASA/JPL/GALILEO
    CELMEC POSTER PRIZE:
    like in the previous edition, a prize will be awarded to the best 3 posters presented at CELMEC VI.

    • Akos Bazso for his poster "Librational motion in the spatial R3BP",
    • Siegfried Eggl for his poster "The NEOShield project: a compehensive approach to asteroid mitigation",
    • Zubin Olikara for his poster "Disposal techniques for spacecraft in libration point orbits".
