Motivations: This paper shows that in the N-centre problem there exist zero energy solutions that are asymptotic, in both negative and positive time, to any prescribed spatial direction. The methodology is complex and innovative, combining variational arguments, Morse index and regularizations. This is a fundamentally new result that is significant for the theory of Celestial Mechanics.
Motivations: This paper is devoted to the study of MEOs, under oblateness and luni-solar perturbations. This relevant work is motivated by the study of long-term motion of space debris- a problem of interest for satellite navigation. The paper undertakes a careful study of the resonant interactions in both analytical and semi-analytical settings, showing transitions from Nekhorossev-like regime to a chaotic Chirikov regime.
